Andy Stanford-Clark, Innovation leader in IBM’s Corporate Strategy organisation

Biography

Prof Andy Stanford-Clark is an innovation leader in IBM’s Corporate Strategy organisation, and is the technical leader for the Mayflower Autonomous Ship project. He is an IBM Distinguished Engineer, a Master Inventor with more than 40 patents, and leads IBM’s Quantum Ambassador team in the UK. Andy is based at IBM’s Hursley Park laboratories near Winchester, and has has been working in the area that we now call the Internet of Things for more than 25 years. He has a BSc in Computing and Mathematics, and a PhD in Computer Science. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia, a Visiting Professor at the University of Newcastle, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southampton, and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Fumihiro Maruyama, Researcher at Standardization Promotion Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Convenor of SC 42/WG 4 Use Cases and Applications

Biography

Dr. Maruyama is an invited fixed-term researcher at Standardization Promotion Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tsukuba, Japan. He is also a special adviser on AI education at Chuo Computer & Communication College Group (CCG). He has been serving as convenor of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42/WG 4 (AI use cases and applications) since the establishment of SC 42 in 2018. Before joining AIST and CCG, he worked for Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Kawasaki, Japan, where he was engaged in research and development of CAD, AI, and CRM solutions and served for four years as managing director of Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe, London, UK.

Dr. Maruyama received his B.S. degree in Mathematical Engineering and Dr. of Engineering degree in Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He was awarded the IPSJ (Information Processing Society of Japan) 20th Anniversary Best Paper Award and the Prof. Motooka Commemorative Award. He is a member of IEEE, IPSJ, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan, the Society for Serviceology, and the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence, where he served as executive vice president and auditor for four years and received Distinguished Service Award


Jordan CrenshawVice President, C_TEC, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Biography

Jordan Crenshaw serves as Vice President and leads the day-to-day operations at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Technology Engagement Center. Crenshaw also directly manages the Chamber’s privacy working group which is comprised of nearly 300 companies and trade associations, which developed model privacy legislation and principles. Prior to becoming vice president of C_TEC, he led the Chamber’s Telecommunications and E-Commerce Policy Committee, which analyzes federal privacy, cloud computing, broadband, internet, e-commerce, and broadcast policies that impact U.S. businesses.

Before joining the Chamber, Crenshaw served as an attorney focusing on environmental issues and analysis of consumer privacy laws. Crenshaw also worked at McGuireWoods, LLP assisting discovery issues for environmental nuisance, TCPA, and other civil litigation. Crenshaw also served Virginia Senate leadership, the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Administrative Law Judges, and the National Right to Work Defense Foundation.

Crenshaw earned both his undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). He and his wife Molly live in Virginia.

Guatam Banerjee, Managing Director at Business Brio and Director at Data Science Foundation International

Biography

Gautam Banerjee is a Data Science and AI practitioner with two and half decades of leadership experience with couple of patents to his credit. He is the Managing Director of Business Brio which

offers consulting and project services in the areas of Data Science and Data Engineering across Europe, North America, Asia and Middle East region. Gautam is the editor of the ISO/IEC 24668 – Process Framework on Big Data Analytics under SC 42 – Artificial Intelligence and has been Chair of NASSCOM East Data Science SIG 2015-2017. He has been a speaker at conferences, seminars and lectures hosted by NASSCOM, CII, IEEE, Cambridge University, Cranfield University, Imperial College – London and IIM-Ahmedabad.

Hajime Yamada, Professor Emeritus of Toyo University, Head of Delegates for Japan to IEC SyC AAL

Biography

Hajime Yamada is a Professor Emeritus of Toyo University. He is also the Program Officer of “Creating a Safe and Secure Living Environment in the Changing Public and Private Spheres” in Japan Science & Technology Agency.

He is the Head of Delegate for Japan to IEC System Committee AAL and ISO TC 314 Ageing Societies. He won the third prize of IEC Centenary Challenge in 2006 by a paper titled “Standardization and Patent Pools: Using Patent Licensing to Lead the Market.”

He is the Chair of the Board of Information Communications Policy Forum, a Board Member of Japan Web Accessibility Consortium, and a Councilor of Japan Society of Information and Communication Research. He was a Member of Engineering Academy of Japan.

Kimberly Lucy, Director of GRC Standard, Microsoft

Biography

Kim Lucy is a Director of GRC Standards at Microsoft, where she has worked for over a decade. She began her career at E&Y performing info security auditing and consulting. Kim has practical experience implementing and auditing security and privacy standards for diverse organizations, and now works as part of Microsoft’s Corporate Standards Group, participating in ISO standards committees to help develop, draft, and revise international standards for artificial intelligence, privacy, and cybersecurity.

She is particularly interested in the alignment of international standards to regulatory and legal frameworks for emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and how organizations can leverage these standards for regulatory compliance

Michael Glickman, Founder and CEO of Computer Network Architects

Biography

Michael L. Glickman, Founder and CEO of Computer Network Architects, has over 50 years of experience in the computer industry and 40 years in Healthcare Information Technology. He is an internationally recognized Subject Matter Expert on systems integration and secure interoperability and is a pioneer in HealthCare informatics as a founding member of the HL7 Working Group in 1987.

He is the Chair of ISO/TC215 Health informatics, and a member of the ANSI ISO Council (AIC) and has served on the Boards of Directors of HIMSS and CDISC, and as Chair of CPRI and the ANSI Information Systems Steering Board representing 55 industries, including HealthCare.

Patty Krantz-Zuppan, Medtronic Distinguished Engineer, Technical Fellow & Bakken Fellow | CRM Quality Systems & Compliance

Biography

Patty Krantz-Zuppan has worked in various aspects of the medical device software industry for over 25 years. She is a Medtronic Distinguished Engineer, Technical Fellow and Bakken Fellow responsible for leading and actively participating in the development of international medical device standards.

Patty is the co-chair of the IEC TC62 Sofware, Networks, and AI Advisory Group and Convener of ISO/TC 210-IEC/SC62A Medical Device Software joint working group (most notable published standard is IEC 62304 1st Edition and Amendment 1 (medical device software lifecycle processes).

She was a co-project leader of IEC 82304-1 Health Software within ISO/TC215-IEC/SC62A JWG7 for Networked Health Software. Patty is an active member in a variety of ISO, AAMI and AAMI/UL standards work, including topics on medical device risk management, active implantable devices, interoperability, and health IT software.

Peter Deussen, Microsoft National Standards Officer

Biography

Peter Deussen assumes the position of the Microsoft National Standards Officer for Germany. In this capacity, he is one of the chairs of the German DIN Committee for Artificial Intelligence.

Peter is Editor of various International Standards, including specifications on Risk Management for Artificial Intelligence, and Artificial Intelligence Impact Assessment. Peter is active in various European and international standardization committees, including ISO/IEC JTC 1, its subcommittees SC 27, SC 38 and SC 42, and CEN-CENELC/JTC 21.

Regina Geierhofer, Secretary of IEC TC62, SC62B, SC62C.

Biography

Ms Geierhofer is currently the secretary of IEC TC62, SC62B, SC62C.

After her graduations in applied chemistry and applied mathematics, Ms Geierhofer worked a decade in a university hospital in Austria, with a focus on IT for radiology, nuclear medicine, and pathology.

She moved into industry, where she worked for various international companies as a risk manager and regulatory affairs manager respectively.

She also holds an certification as lead auditor for medical devices and information security and a certification as risk manager.

During more than 20 years she was also engaged in the national and international standardization in the field of medical device standardization and security at the national and international level.

Riccardo Mariani, VP of Industry Safety, NVIDIA

Biography

Riccardo Mariani is widely recognized as an expert in functional safety and integrated circuit reliability. In his current role as VP of Industry Safety at NVIDIA, he is responsible for driving safety alignment across NVIDIA’s automotive and embedded business units. To this end, he is responsible for developing cohesive safety strategies and cross-segment safety processes, architecture, and products that can leveraged across NVIDIA’s AI-based hardware and software platforms.

Prior to NVIDIA, he was chief functional safety technologist at Intel Corporation, where he oversaw strategies and technologies for IoT applications that require functional safety, high reliability, and performance, such as autonomous driving, transportation, and industrial systems. Riccardo Mariani is 2022 First VP of IEEE Computer Society and chair of the IEEE Computer Functional Safety Standards Committee.

Mariani spent the bulk of his career as CTO of Yogitech, an industry leader in functional safety technologies. A prolific author and respected inventor in the functional safety field, Mariani has contributed to multiple industry standards efforts throughout his career, including leading the ISO 26262-11 part specific to semiconductors and co-editing ISO/TR 5469 on Artificial Intelligence and Safety. He is the recipient of the 2021 Ron Waxman DASC Meritorious Service Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering and a Ph.D. in microelectronics from the University of Pisa in Italy

Steve Kommrusch, Director of Research at Leela AI

Biography

Dr. Steve Kommrusch is the Director of Research at Leela AI. He received his PhD in 2022 in computer science from Colorado State University. His PhD research work focused on machine learning for computer aided programming. He received his BS in computer engineering from University of Illinois in 1987 and his MS in EECS from MIT in 1989.

From 1989 through 2017, he worked at Hewlett-Packard, National Semiconductor, and Advanced Micro Devices. Steve holds over 30 patents in the fields of computer graphics algo­rithms, silicon simulation and debug techniques, and silicon performance and power manage­ment. Rohit Israni, Director Cloud and AI Ecosystem Enabling, Intel & Chair INCITS/Artificial Intelligence

Biography

Rohit Israni is currently Director Cloud and AI Ecosystem Enabling in the Cloud and Enterprise Solutions Group at Intel. He leads inorganic initiatives and developer relations for Cloud/AI. Earlier, he cofounded the Intel AI Academy and the Intel AI Builder program chartered with bringing Intel’s AI initiatives to leading universities and ISVs world-wide. He is the Chair of INCITS/Artificial Intelligence, the US TAG to SC 42.

Rohit has 20 years of experience in engineering, new product innovation, strategy, finance and business development in a variety of organizations. Prior to his current role, Rohit was responsible for the development of the ecosystem for depth photography for Intel’s RealSense initiatives. Rohit led a collaboration between Intel and Google engineers to create an open standard called XDM (eXtensible Device Metadata) released at   www.xdm.org  and then taken to JPEG.

Rohit’s prior technical background is in AI and he worked at Imaging Technology (M&A Dalsa), a spinoff from MIT’s AI Lab and one of the survivors of the second winter of AI and at KLA-Tencor, leading semiconductor equipment company, in developing machine learning and computer vision algorithms. He has 2 patents in pattern recognition and machine learning.

Rohit holds a Masters’ degree in Engineering with a specialization in Robotics and AI from Tulane University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management Science & Engineering with a focus on Entrepreneurship from Stanford University.

Wael William Diab, Chair of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 (Artificial Intelligence)

Biography

Wael William Diab is a business and technology strategist with more than twenty years of executive experience at Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley. He is a prolific inventor with more than 900 patents to his name in the ICT field and an industry recognized expert on digital transformation. Skilled in leadership for breakout technology, Diab has architected strategy, driven industry-wide initiatives, cultivated partnerships, identified M&A
